Yang Wang, Sydney Forde, Ahmed Al Rawi, and Krishna Jayakar.This study offers the very first investigation of the global diffusion and convergence of domain name dispute resolution policies (NDRPs) by analyzing 34 policies adopted by country code top-level domains (ccTLDs) between 1999 and 2023. While prior research has largely focused on ICANN’s Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), this paper offers a novel cross-national comparison of NDRPs to evaluate textual convergence and underlying policy drivers. Combining qualitative content analysis with network-based similarity modeling, the study constructs a matrix representing pairwise textual similarity between policy documents.

This paper argues for amendments to the Quebec CPA through 1) emphasizing the scale to which the video game industry has disregarded Québécois child advertising regulations through a case study analysis; 2) introducing a variety of ways that other nations have addressed the unique and covert advertising approaches used in video games, such as the United Kingdom’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), which divides how in-game versus externally advertised items are regulated; and 3) breaking down how similar, often self-regulatory approaches from other governing entities can be applied through amendments to Quebec’s existing advertising regulation.

Online reviews are powerful tools in the digital review economy, as well as providing and publicizing feedback to game developers and potential users. As review platforms proliferate and impact consumer and developer relationships, digital media scholars need to examine how users engage in these spaces.

For others, it's having their favorite previously purchased games restricted behind yet another paywall. This is part of a continuing trend of platforms and publishers taking content off online services, even after consumers purchase it at full price.
